Domestic consumption firmed up in Mar-23, as measured by QuantEco Research’s TRUCE indices, with urban consumption index rising to 0.68 i.e., the highest level since Nov-19 led by Air passenger traffic and Petrol consumption. On the rural side, a sizeable drop in CPI inflation along with continued strength in tractor sales provided support to the index. Urban consumption continues to remain stronger than rural counterpart in Mar-23 – a trend that has remained intact over the last near 1-1/2 years
